Nepentes, the listed manufacturer and distributor of dermocosmetics and medicinal products, plans to introduce more than 35 new dermocosmetics and dermatology drugs in Poland this year, and to launch a similar number of new products on its key foreign markets of Romania, Bulgaria and Lithuania. The announcement came in the company’s annual report for 2009, released on 12 April.
According to the report, Nepentes has set itself three strategic goals for 2010. One is further growth of export sales, mainly on the markets of Central and Eastern Europe, either directly or in partnership with local distributors. Another objective is continued expansion of its portfolio of dermocosmetics and dermatology Rx medicines. The company wants to be present in all major segments of the dermatology market by the end of 2010. The third goal is concentration of production at its new plant in Chociw (due to start operations at the beginning of the second quarter), as the one in Lodz is being phased out. The move is expected to bring substantial cost savings. Official audited figures for 2009 confirm that the company generated consolidated sales revenues of PLN 135m (€34.8m) last year, up by 23% on 2008. Group net profit climbed 4.6% to PLN 17.4m (€4.5m).
