The new GPhC CPD Rules and Framework come into effect on 2nd of July 2011. After this date, if you fail to respond to a CPD call letter (and reminders) from GPhC you will receive a letter from the Registrar giving you 28 days notice of the intention to remove you from the register.
If the outcome of your CPD record review is that you have not met the GPhC’s CPD requirements, they may ask you to undertake additional CPD activities by a specified date and to make a record of this learning in your CPD record. The other changes to the CPD Framework will take effect once the Rules have been in force for one year. Two significant changes here are: • A third of the required nine CPD entries per year must start at reflection. This means at least three out of your nine required CPD entries for each full year of your registration must start at “reflection” • When your CPD record is reviewed, the GPhC will check that you have applied at least 50% of the assessable GPhC criteria for good recording practice.
