Chester Medical Solutions, one of the UK’s leading pharmaceutical contract packing companies, has achieved PS9000:2001 certification for its carton and leaflet plant in Deeside, North Wales.  The quality standard confirms that the print facility for cartons and leaflets conforms to industry best practice.

The accreditation follows a £500,000 investment programme in the summer of 2010, which saw Chester Medical Solutions increase operations at its Deeside facility by 50%.

PS9000 is a globally-acclaimed certification programme published by the Pharmaceutical Quality Group (PQG) which provides a framework of best practice within the pharmaceutical packaging supply industry.  Companies meeting the accreditation criteria must demonstrate a thorough understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) together with the establishment and implementation of the appropriate quality and monitoring systems, including full reporting and traceability.

The company is already accredited by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for a wide variety of packing requirements, and holds the MHRA’s MIA (IMP) Licence for Investigational Medicinal Products.   It has also been awarded further pharmaceutical licences and has achieved ISO 13485 certification for the packing of medical devices.
